Paint Saves the Day Color Saves the Day and Bourbon Saves the Day

If I can get my timing right, all of you will have watched my appearance on The Balancing Act before I return from my morning errand. If all goes well, maybe I’ll even have a few peppy comments from my most supportive little white lying readers, ready and waiting. That should help gird me up to watch myself, on the TV

Just in case things go very badly, I have a plan.

I believe it’s unseemly to start drinking before noon, and my neighborhood liquor store opens at 10 a.m.-that’s a glitch-it won’t take more than half an hour to grab a bottle of sweet vermouth. Let’s see now….. The lawn needs mowing, and that pushes cocktail time to about 1p.m. Perfect. Two perfect Manhattans ought to do the trick. Part celebration for the absolutely fabulous new look of the blog, part anesthesia to get through watching myself, on the TV:)

I think I may have felt more at home on set, if I could have done the interview perched atop my ladder and lucky charm, little joey. But despite my knocking knees and bad hair, I think I managed to stammer out the point, that paint and color, and renovating and doing, are all what I know, and a disproportionate part, of who I am, my very snappy shoes aside.

To the gang at The Balancing Act,who helped coordinate my appearance today, thanks for making me feel like a star for a day.

Most of all, thanks to all of you, who write to say you love the books, post your reviews of them, mention them to friends, and share your designing, painting and color stories with me. And just in case you need another copy, the photo guy’s going to post a link right here….just as soon as he mixes me another Perfect Manhattan. Cheers !
