My dear friend, and super, crazy talented artist, Esmond Lyons, was here to add a dash of Americana to the second floor back hall. You can check out the story I posted over at Benjamin Moore, and I’ll post the grand finale for you, here, next week.
In the meantime, there’s always a bit of shopping to be done, because no Americana corner is complete, without a rocking chair.
Even my most casual acquaintances know, that I own more chairs than any single person could possibly ever need. Me especially, since I HATE, to sit. At the moment, I have 14 chairs on semi- permanent with an asterisk loan, which is code for: “I may want this back”. My barn is full of chairs, my attic has a few, the house is positively riddled with chairs, and there are four new ones, sitting patiently in a bathtub, waiting for their room assignments.
I’m still trying to remember who I may have loaned my triplets to, but it must have been someone in an emergency chair situation of some sort. I can’t for the life of me recall allowing them out of my sight, and I’ve asked everyone I know, if they have seen them.
Anyway, one never knows when a little baby who needs rocking could turn up, and every 200-year-old house deserves a rocker. So, a heartfelt thank you to Esmond, for making my Rufus Porter dreams come true.
I’ll pass any and all compliments along, and please, let me know if you spot my 3 cuties anywhere!! ;-
